The Minister of Agriculture and Food Kiril Vatev took part in the ceremonial celebration of today’s feast of Tryphon Zarezan in the Troyan Monastery. He attended a holy water blessing officiated by the deputy abbot of the Holy Monastery, Archimandrite Stefan, and together they planted the vine in the courtyard of the monastery. Minister Vatev noted that the Troyan Monastery carries a serious historical memory and is a holy spiritual place.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Georgi Toshev, the Mayor of Troyan Donka Mihailova, the Executive Director of Executive agency on vine and wine (EAVW) Krasimir Koev, the Regional Governor of Lovech Viktor Stoychev and the People’s Representatives Iskren Arabadjiev and Nikolay Drenchev were also present at the water blessing
Minister Vatev commented that the visit to Troyan is aimed at presenting the successful experience of the municipality, which was the first in the country to start its own production of vegetables, fruits, honey and spices to feed children in kindergartens and schools.
Later, the minister and his deputy Georgi Toshev hold a meeting with farmers from the Lovech region where current issues including pasture distribution were discussed with regional farmers.
